Roberts Vain Wilshaw are excited to announce the recruitment of Rick Paterson. Rick will join the team in a director roll.

Rick is a chartered surveyor with over 35 years experience in business rates in both the public and private sectors. He worked at the Valuation Office for 30 years so has an in depth knowledge of how that organisation works. He also worked with the VO’s Specialist Rating team for a number of years, so is used to dealing with high value / complex industrial buildings such as large factories, distribution warehouses, cold stores, chemical works and data centres. Additions for rateable Plant and Machinery can be significant and need to be evaluated and costed. Rick has the experience to ensure this is done correctly and rates liability is suitably mitigated. Since moving across to the private sector some 5 years ago, Rick has represented numerous clients successfully in a wide ranging variety of property sectors across the UK.
